🚀 From Light to Life to Space: DEGRES INX® is printing in space! We are incredibly proud to announce that BIO INX’s biodegradable, polyester-based shape-memory resin was successfully printed aboard the International Space Station. During Mission AXLM-3, Auxilium Biotechnologies used DEGRES INX® with its AMP-1 platform to manufacture 28 nerve repair implants in orbit. The same mission also produced kidney, liver, and cartilage tissue—marking the first time one orbital platform manufactured both living tissues and implantable medical products during a single spaceflight. This achievement highlights the importance of robust, reproducible biomaterials. Plug-and-print capabilities are valuable on Earth—but essential in space, where astronaut time and resources are extremely limited.
