In 2019, I expected voice interfaces to change analytics MUCH faster than they did.
There were plenty of voice startups and the tooling kept getting better. I built an Amazon Alexa skill with the Luzmo API behind it, so I could ask things like:
The assistant answered in one line, then emailed the full report with a link to the dashboard in our platform so I could slice and dice from there.
That future did not arrive as fast as I expected.
AI has brought us much closer now, but I still don't think one interface takes over in the next two years.
Some people will live in a general AI assistant. Others will stay in email. And many will keep working in the specialized tools they already know best.
The more interesting challenge isn't predicting which interface wins.
It's making sure the same company knowledge works across all of them.
Same definitions. Same permissions. Same accuracy.
The interface can change. The answer can't.
