Our full-time MBA students teamed up with NLMK Europe for a GenAI hackathon. One afternoon, six teams, one shared challenge: turn messy maintenance logs into something engineers can actually use.
No polished dataset. No sandbox. Just live operational data and a real persona to step into.
As Professor Martin Butler puts it: the real challenge isn't the AI itself; it's understanding the environment well enough to use it wisely.
The winning team built a prompt library and dashboard flow that starts small and grows with the data. NLMK Europe is now taking it back into the organisation, and a follow-up In-Company Project is already on the table.
