We could build our own robot. We chose not to. Here's why:
Robotics has more hardware specialists than any single company could ever out-build: quadrupeds, humanoids, marine drones, each one the result of a team spending years perfecting a single machine.
Trying to match all of them, while also building the software that runs it, is a race against everyone at once.
So we picked our lane.
We built the platform where the task actually gets programmed and connected it to whichever hardware can execute that task best.
The specialists build the machine. We build the intelligence that decides what it does, and the platform to manage it.
That doesn't mean we go shopping for a new robot every week.
Within a vertical, we build long-term partnerships and stick with them, because it means we get to co-create with our partners and shape where their hardware goes next.
What it does mean is that we're never locked into one model company-wide.
When a new vertical or a new opportunity comes along, we're free to pick whichever robot fits it best, instead of forcing a machine into a job it wasn't built for.
