Your LinkedIn is probably already full: tonight the moon covers 90% of the sun, and that unsurprisingly moves energy prices.
By now you have seen the graph. Probably four times. Twice with the same screenshot, once zoomed in on the peak, each caption a little more alarmed than the last.
So we are not printing the number again.
Go look for yourself on our Energy Market Monitor. You will find this evening's peak, and a lot more.
While you are there: the eclipse is a one-evening guest star. The shape it draws is the daily programme. Cheap midday, expensive evening, every day the sun sets and the load stays on.
Changing that shape takes PV that covers the cheap hours, a BESS that carries them into the peak, and an EMS that re-decides every 15 minutes what runs, what charges and what waits.
Better still, give us a call. We design the PV and the BESS around your own quarter-hourly profile, not around tonight's headline.
