We have released ModelChoice — decision analysis in Excel, and the newest addition to the Vose range alongside ModelRisk, Tamara and Pelican. Vose has built quantitative risk tools since 2001: Monte Carlo simulation in the spreadsheet with ModelRisk, project cost and schedule risk with Tamara, the fully quantitative risk register with Pelican. ModelChoice closes the remaining gap — the moment someone actually has to decide under all that uncertainty. What it does. It puts decision trees directly on the Excel worksheet. You draw the structure — decisions, chance events, payoffs — and ModelChoice lays it out, rolls it back and re-solves as you type, highlighting the optimal path before you ask for it. The model stays an ordinary workbook your colleagues can open and audit. Why it is different. — One tree drives sixteen analyses: rollback and the full risk profile, one-way and two-way sensitivity, robustness scoring that tells you how far an assumption has to move before the recommendation flips and which assumption it is, value of information so a study can be priced before it is commissioned, multi-criteria analysis when the decision is not only about money, and a single-page Decision Brief for the committee — regenerated the moment an input changes. — Uncertainty stays quantitative. When a variable is genuinely continuous — a price, a demand, a duration — the chance branch becomes a distribution and the tree runs full Monte Carlo simulation through ModelRisk. — Nothing leaves Excel. No parallel file format, no separate application, no re-keying. Trees sit next to the data that feeds them, and export to JSON for version control. — Sixty industry example models ship with it, existing decision-tree models import in one click, and the maximum price is €950 per user per year.
