Every AI conversation in hospitality collapses into a single mush: "AI for hotels." It's lazy thinking.
The systems doing the work live in three different domains, each with its own data, its own decision tempo, and its own definition of "good":
- Guest-facing AI: acquisition, conversation, service. Tempo: real-time. Risk: brand exposure on every reply.
- Back office AI: night audit, reconciliation, forecasting. Tempo: daily to monthly. Risk: silent compounding error.
- Commercial AI: demand, rate, mix, distribution. Tempo: continuous. Risk: overfitting to last year's market.
Clean on paper. In production, none of these exists in isolation, and the boundaries are exactly where the interesting fights are happening.
In our Founder Vassilis Syropoulos' latest article, he maps where each domain breaks, who's quietly building into the others' territory, and the three questions worth asking any vendor who tells you "we have AI."
