Today, Jaap Gebraad, the Secretary General of the WaterborneTP, took part in the Maritime Affairs Conference 2026: “Transforming Shipping in Practice: Decarbonization, Digitalisation and Arctic Navigation”, organised by the World Maritime University.
During the session on maritime decarbonisation, Jaap spoke about “Waterborne Technology Leadership,”highlighting the role of technology and innovation in accelerating the transition towards a competitive, resilient and sustainable European waterborne sector.
The Waterborne Technology Platform is currently developing dedicated Technology Roadmaps to support this ambition by identifying technology pathways, key priorities and the steps needed to move innovative solutions towards market uptake and large-scale deployment across different product and system categories.
