Modulation of the response to immunotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer: the role of the microbiota and microbial metabolites in the tumor microenvironment
Triple-negative #BreastCancer (TNBC) remains challenging because resistance to chemoimmunotherapy 🧪 is common.
➡️ This review explores how gut and tumor-associated microbiota, particularly microbiota-derived metabolites such as short-chain fatty acids, tryptophan derivatives and bile acids, shape antitumor immunity and immune checkpoint inhibitor responses.
âś… By influencing T-cell fitness, dendritic cells, myeloid polarization and tumor metabolism, these metabolites may offer new biomarkers and therapeutic opportunities, including diet, postbiotics and microbiome-based interventions.
