TLDR

Akiles is a Brussels-based evergreen investment fund founded in 2019 by Christophe Rousseaux, the founder of Immoweb, backing growth-stage Belgian SMEs with tickets up to around EUR 5 million.

Overview

Akiles is a Belgian evergreen vehicle focused on growth capital for established Belgian companies, typically as a minority shareholder supporting expansion plans, owner buyouts, and selective acquisitions. The fund is registered in Rhode-Saint-Genèse in the Brussels region and is led by Christophe Rousseaux and Laurent Puissant Baeyens, with a small team that includes Kurt Huyghe and investment manager Charles Van den Bergh.

The fund sources its capital and identity from Christophe Rousseaux's background as the founder of Immoweb, the dominant Belgian real estate Marketplace acquired by Axel Springer in 2012. Akiles positions itself for entrepreneurs who want to accelerate growth without losing control of their company, combining patient capital with operational support.

In April 2026, Akiles took a 50 percent stake in Zidis, the Antwerp-based video and content production company, jointly committing EUR 7 million with founder Yannick De Wael to a new entity named Zidis United for expansion into the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Akiles has also publicly supported Loop Earplugs and apparel brand Flotte across recent funding rounds.
