Overview
Founded in 2015 in Genk, MobieTrain builds a mobile-first learning platform designed for deskless workers in retail, hospitality, logistics, and manufacturing. Unlike traditional LMS tools built for desk-based employees, MobieTrain delivers short, gamified training modules optimized for smartphones and accessed during brief downtime between tasks.
The company raised a EUR 9M Series B in 2024 led by Fortino Capital, bringing total funding to EUR 14.8M. The round was used to accelerate product development and expand into new European markets. MobieTrain addresses the significant gap in L&D tooling for the majority of the global workforce that does not work at a desk.

- When did you last walk one of your locations on a Friday night and really pay attention? We don't mean the numbers. We mean the people. The gap between induction training and what actually happens on a busy shift is where most customer experience problems live. Because information given once rarely survives contact with reality, even if the team is trying. This five-point audit is one of the most honest diagnostics a COO or area manager can run. Just five questions that tell you what your training programme actually produced. Swipe
- If you're a store or restaurant manager, this one's for you ❗️ You juggle five apps before your first coffee: a WhatsApp thread that never stops, a schedule that changes twice before lunch, and a team that needs answers right now. And yes, probably a platform for training too. Every day. And it's rarely something anyone stops to ask you about. In the comments you can find the first 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆, built to capture what running a location really looks like, in your own words. Just your side of the story, which

But looking back at those two years, a few things kept showing up, and they are the same things I see every week at MobieTrain and Khova. 𝗔 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Sub 5 was not a wish. It was a number I could plan backwards from. Every training block had to serve it. Same in business.
- September is when hospitality teams say goodbye to their best seasonal staff. December is when they start looking for them again. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿? Not the salaries. The actual cost of finding, onboarding and losing people. Replacing a single frontline worker costs an average of $5,475, and that's just the visible part. Add the manager hours diverted from operations, the weeks of reduced productivity while someone new finds their footing, and the service
- And a group chat on WhatsApp won't close it. Above 20 locations, operational consistency stops being a people problem. It becomes a systems problem. The area manager can only visit so many stores. The briefing only travels as far as whoever forwarded the message. The brands that scale well build systems that give every manager, everywhere, the same quality of information, consistently, not after something goes wrong. The gap between your best and worst location is measurable. So is the fix. 🧐 Curious about what the numbers look like

Leaders across retail and hospitality described the same pattern: clear guidelines at HQ, inconsistent reality on the floor. And somewhere in between, a patchwork of tools, training here, communication there, tasks somewhere else, that nobody is actually reading anymore. The real cost of fragmented tools shows up quietly... in the customer experience, every
