Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Wespelaar near Leuven, Waterleau is an engineering and technology company specializing in industrial water treatment and wastewater management. The company designs and builds treatment systems for industrial clients across sectors including food and beverage, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and municipalities.
Operating at scale-up maturity, Waterleau combines proprietary technology with engineering services, giving it both recurring service revenue and project-based income. Its location in the Leuven area places it within reach of the university and research ecosystem at Leuven.
Waterleau is part of a broader Belgian water technology cluster alongside BOSAQ and Shayp, though it operates at a significantly larger industrial scale than those startups.
