Gert Van Den Poel

Overview

Gert Van Den Poel is the founder and managing partner of Cybervalue, which he started in July 2019. He is based in Leuven.

Before founding Cybervalue, he was CTO of Reliance acsn from 2016 to 2019. He spent much of his earlier career at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, joining in July 2007 as principal security consultant and going on to lead the professional services practice for network and infrastructure security in EMEA, to manage professional services for the same area, to serve as global practice lead for threat management, and, after a period as an architect at IBM in 2014, to return as a senior security solution architect until July 2016.

Earlier he was a senior security consultant at Cybertrust and, before that, at Ubizen, and he worked as a network administrator at Flanders Technology International - Technopolis from 2000 to 2002.

He studied applied information technology at Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven from 1999 to 2002 and completed a master class in information security management at Antwerp Management School in 2011.
