Last week we installed a dry solids (%DS) measurement for Iron sludge in a buffer of approx 4000m³. The Olpas, a concentration measurement instrumentation company Tentacle sensor line can be supplied with calibrations (more than one!) for iron sludge: - A 'low concentration' range: 0 - 5% DS - High concentration: 4 - 15 %DS Both calibrations are present on the device at the same time. Of course, Olpas Tentacle sensor can be delivered calibrated for TSS of iron sludge as well (0 - 20 000 mg/L). Here we used once more the Crodeon Technologies Reporter to connect our sensor as this is by far the easiest way to get all the data into a dashboard without any work ;-) What I like is that the Reporter provides power supply and RS485 communication with the Olpas Tentacle. This means just one cable to take care of (a standard M12 4-wire cable). As you can see, the installation position is quite challenging on a movable mixer inside the sludge buffer. We used the Olpas Tentacle sensor cage to mount the Tentacle safely on existing mounting points. ps. The pictures show some other sensor as well ( 😉 ) as we wont be the only ones demonstrating our technology.
