Quality culture lives both in the policy and in the corridor conversations. How people understand quality, if they feel valued or not and how you work with them is what is really going to move the needle. So here are some phrases you can use on any random Tuesday that can help to foster a sense of quality culture in your organization: "Shout out to Amy for reporting this." "Let's write this SOP together." "Let's find out why this happened." "Here's why reporting early helps us out." "I want your opinion on this." "How can we work better together?" "Great job stopping the line instead of guessing." “Better early than during an audit.” None of these are complicated or time consuming. But say them enough, and people don’t second-guess reporting something, SOPs get written by the people who actually use them and cross-functional collaboration happens organically.
