Mellanskog timber deliveries rise 42%
Storm salvage pushed the Swedish forest owners’ association to sharply higher Q2 timber flows.
Mellanskog increased Q2 timber deliveries to 1.663 million m³fub, up 41.7% year-on-year.
The increase was driven by major work to process timber damaged by Storm Johannes. Around 120,000 m³fub has been exported on 25 vessels, while about 200,000 m³ of sawlogs is being stored under sprinkler systems.
For Sweden’s timber market, the story is volume, logistics and storm recovery moving together.
