Founded in 2015 by Jonathan Weber in Brussels, Urbantz provides software for planning, executing, and optimizing last-mile delivery operations. The platform covers route planning, carrier orchestration, real-time tracking, proof of delivery, and analytics for retailers, 3PLs, and delivery operators working in dense urban environments.
Urbantz raised EUR 2M in angel and seed funding initially, then completed a EUR 6M Series A in 2019. In December 2020, the company extended the Series A with an additional EUR 6M from the same syndicate (ETF Partners, Korys, and Sambrinvest), bringing total Series A proceeds to EUR 12M. ETF Partners, a sustainability-focused VC, aligns with Urbantz's positioning around reducing urban delivery emissions and congestion.
The company was ranked in the Top 3 of Deloitte's Belgium Fastest 50 startups in 2020. Urbantz competes with global players including Bringg and Circuit but maintains a strong position among European retailers and logistics operators.
